Software practice: Making digital portrait with Procreate

 I have chosen to develop my skills in procreate on the iPad Pro. I watched a YouTube tutorial “How I START My Portrait PAINTINGS”

How I START My Portrait PAINTINGS

I have chosen a photo and then fallowing the instructions.   I used it as reference to draw a picture next to it. I made a few mistakes such as not right brush for this task. First I used “Pencil 6B” but after I changed  to  “Hemp” brush. I leaving a few screenshots below to show how it went.

I started by drawing using photo as a reference. I started from drawing a simple sketch , next I moved on to colour my artwork. I was struggled to correctly blend the colours ,in near future I will learn how to do it correctly.

When I have got simple shapes I moved on to make it constancy by making artwork more colourful.

Then I focused on the background ,same as before I added colours to it.

Then I flip an image to check how its look like from different perspective.

I know where I made mistakes, next time i will open more layers and more fouc on each element. I will test different brushes etc

Please see my finished work here.It’s not perfect. Next time, I will more experiment with different brushes and focus on the details.

This process was usful but to be good in digital art I have to spend tousands of hours. I will do it in nearly future.
