Today I looking for inspiration to create my portfolio.
The first painting which catches my eye was 14 hours 2024 Silk screen printing, Acrylic paints on plexiglass 36”x24” painted by Sua. Kim.
Painting depicting city. In my project I want ot show my city Koszalin, so this is related. Additionally simple colours perfectly fitted as a cover page.
Another image created by Tang Yau Hoong is simple as example before but showing a house which is related to my project because Koszalin is my home town so that’s why painting simple house as a cover page is good idea for my portfolio.
Negative effect making a job and show completely image in different perspective. I could use a negative technique as Hoong in my cover.
Another painting is was made by Suma CM. This time artist used a watercolour but I want to use a composition and colour palettes as inspiration for my cover page.
After I realise that I supposed to looking at portfolios… I checked Arts Thread page and I found nothing interested my eye. Looking depth I found Daryl Malto portfolio
After that I made a quick sketch of my cover page of my portfolio.
Today I started designing my portfolio cover page, for this task I used a procreate on my iPad.
Firstly I wrote a text “Artist Portfolio” by hand and iPad pencl, then I add a text with my name, surname and year.
After that I started adding first images of my artworks, the idea was to add three as I sketched before and using settings change brightness to pop out the text.
I recomposition an images a couple of times to get well fitted composition.
First idea to pop out the text was to create an another layer and use white colour under text, but it doesn’t look really good.
So, I changed an idea to create a white page as a layer under a text and crop it properly. Below I leaving my final result.
After that I showed my project to my Classmate and Tutor to get a feedback. My college just confirm my thoughts about idea of a cover page, however, he suggested me to experiment with images opacity ,take a time with cropping white page around text and make the text more smooth. Also my tutor suggested me to change the “artist portfolio” text to name of the project.

If you can make the time, I'd recommend creating a couple of digital mock ups this week so you have a better idea about how you are going to present this work. You may need more than one gallery - one for the painting, one for the 3D works.
